We’re so proud of the Stubble Bank team who won a ‘Highly Commended’ award at the Stars in Social Care Awards ceremony in London this weekend. A great recognition of their amazing work for all our young people every day. Thanks for all you do!

Stubble Bank are Finalists in Stars of Social Care Awards

We’re really proud that the team at Stubble Bank are finalists in the Stars of Social Care Awards.

The Stubble Bank team provide a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment, offering specialist residential mental healthcare for young people with complex mental health needs. They are committed to delivering compassionate, trauma-informed care that promotes stability, resilience and positive outcomes. Through strong relationships, individualised support and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, they help young people achieve their potential.

Over the past year, the work within this home has been truly inspirational. The entire residential and clinical team has demonstrated unwavering commitment, resilience, and passion, working tirelessly to reinvent the home and create a nurturing, empowering environment where young people are supported to move towards independence, one step at a time.

Throughout the past 12 months, the team has faced significant challenges and periods of crisis. During these times, they supported one another with compassion and unity, demonstrating kindness, professionalism, and the core values of Care in Mind. Their ability to remain calm, caring, and YP‑focused during adversity is a true reflection of their dedication to both the young people and one another.

The team has consistently gone above and beyond expectations, showing creativity and initiative in developing meaningful experiences for the young people. They take immense pride in their home and in the progress achieved by those they care for, celebrating successes big and small. This strong sense of belonging and mutual respect has created a stable, motivated workforce that continues to deliver exceptional care.

We are incredibly proud of the Stubble Bank team and of what they have achieved, the difference they make every day, what they represent, and the passion, care, and advocacy they demonstrate for both young people and one another.

Stubble Bank Achieves a ‘Good’ CQC Rating

Care in Mind specialist residential home Stubble Bank has achieved an overall ‘Good’ rating, following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors carried out an examination into services offered at the end of August. The CQC rated the home ‘Good’ overall, with each of the individual categories; safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led each receiving a good in their domain.

Inspectors noted that staff had received the appropriate training and supervision to help support young people effectively. Staff were also praised for supporting service users in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests with the policies and systems in the service that supported this practice.

The inspection report also noted that staff worked closely with other health and social care professionals to ensure that young people received appropriate and timely care with Stubble Bank placing a strong focus on developing and maintaining young people’s independent living skills and supported individuals based on their bespoke recovery goals. The report said, “The service had an open and honest culture and staff showed commitment to achieving good outcomes for young people with complex mental health difficulties”

Residential Service News – Stubble Bank

Earlier in November, Stubble Bank, our specialist mental health residential service in Ramsbottom, organised a dog walk.

Staff and young people from other services across the Care in Mind group were invited to take part in walking around the beautiful Lancashire countryside. Near to Stubble Bank and The Stables in Ramsbottom.

Young people, staff and their very well behaved four-legged friends met at a local pub before walking up to the Peel Tower, a historic landmark 335 metres above sea level and has amazing views of the Lancashire landscape.
