Running for Hope: Supporting BEAT through the Manchester Marathon

On April 27th, our very own Luke Pilling is running the Manchester Marathon—not just as a personal challenge, but to raise awareness and funds for BEAT, the UK’s eating disorder charity.

Luke explains: “I am fundraising for Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.”

This deeply personal mission stems from Luke’s own experience witnessing close friends struggle with eating disorders from a very young age. He notes, “Nobody should ever have to go through this, nevermind at such a young age.”

Luke has already contributed £50 of his own and set a goal to raise £300 to help BEAT continue their vital work. The charity provides critical services and support for those dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and more.

This story not only highlights Luke’s compassion and dedication but also reinforces the core values of Care in Mind: compassion, support, and community. We’re incredibly proud of Luke and encourage everyone to consider supporting his effort.

You can follow Luke’s fundraising journey and contribute via his JustGiving page here.

This marathon represents more than just physical endurance—it’s a powerful act of advocacy and compassion. Luke’s story serves as an inspiring reminder of the difference one person can make.

At Care in Mind, we’re proud to support team members who champion causes that align with our values.

Good luck, Luke—we’re all cheering you on!
