Elmhurst is one of our specialist mental health residential services.

What are the top three great things for our young people at Elmhurst?

1.Education Wednesdays

Each Wednesday a team member chooses a topic to present to the house – we’ve learnt about Egyptians, Food Hygiene, the history of Manchester, gardening and more! These sessions are great fun and provide interactive ways to help each other learn and spend positive time together.

2. Our location

We are only a short bus ride away from Stockport town centre which is a hub for all things creative and fun. We are also a short train ride away from Manchester City Centre which is always buzzing and great for shopping.

3. The garden

We make use of the garden daily when the weather is nicer, and everyone gets involved with planting new things in the flower bed. We have a resident robin bird who hops around the garden regularly.

4. Breakfast, lunch and dinner club

We eat at mealtimes together each day, calling it breakfast lunch or dinner club. Our young people enjoy this and find it comforting to all eat together in the kitchen – or in the garden if it is nice and sunny!

So what do our young people say are the best bits about Elmhurst?

“The staff – they always support us and they care”
“The joyful and uplifting atmosphere”
-“Having a safe space”
