Following the success of our last event Yorkshire, we are delighted to announce we will be hosting our next Educational Event in the North West in June. Our second event will take place at The Park Royal Hotel in Stretton, Warrington on Wednesday 19th June 2019, from 12 pm – 3 pm.

Our inaugural event in Yorkshire in March began with an introduction and welcome from our Director of Business Development, Julie Smith before a series of presentations by a number of Care in Mind professionals from different areas of the organisation.

Presentations started with an overview of Care in Mind, the origins of the company and a brief insight into the future plans of the organisation, delivered by Dr Rachel Scullion, Clinical Director.

Care in Mind’s Best Practice Facilitator, Dominique Hooper then delivered an interactive presentation on Safewards for Safehomes, encouraging delegates to take part in group activities and share their thoughts on some the interventions that we use in our services.

Following a quick break, presentations resumed with Clinical Nurse Specialist and Clinical Lead for Yorkshire, Josef Comyn-Doyle. Josef explained more about our approach to therapeutic risk management and how specific risks are managed within our homes.

An open Q&A session then started and gave the opportunity for delegates to ask any further questions about any presentations or about Care in Mind in general.

Overall, 100% of delegates rated the event as excellent; with 81% finding the content relevant to their role and 95% finding the information clear and easy to understand.

“The presentation around therapeutic risk management was interesting – to hear multi-agency opinion and how Care in Mind’s model has evolved and is ever-evolving.”

“The Safewards for Safehomes information was particularly interesting and thought-provoking.”

“The most useful aspect was the discussion about creating the therapeutic environment that allow the best possible management of risk to allow the young person to develop.”
