Elmhurst is a  detached property situated in Offerton, close to Stockport town centre, with excellent public transport links.  The house has a homely feel and has a large lounge for young people to enjoy communal time with their peers as well as a smaller space for young people to engage in activities or quieter time. Offerton is a busy community with lots of local amenities including restaurants and a leisure centre, providing lots of opportunities for young people to access meaningful vocational and leisure activities whilst building their independence skills.

The Elmhurst team work collaboratively with the young people from the point of assessment and during transition, to identify their goals and develop individualised care plans and effective risk management strategies, which are reviewed regularly, ensuring they remain relevant and meaningful for the young person and provide a sense of continued progress and achievement. The use of the Mental Health Recovery Star within the CPA process provides a structure for this person-centred care planning so that each young person can work toward their individualised goals throughout their recovery pathway.

The residential team work effectively and collaboratively with the clinical team, through regular multidisciplinary meetings and reviews, to ensure the highest quality of evidence-based care is delivered consistently.

The young people are invited to attend young person feedback groups and house meetings to ensure inclusion and collaboration within all elements of the therapeutic package of care and their home.
