Willowhurst is a detached 5-bed house set in its own secluded grounds. The house has a large garden with a lovely summer house and vegetable patches allowing the young people to engage in outside activities.

Willowhurst is 3 miles from Preston with good access to transport links and local amenities.

Effective implementation of the Safewards for Safe Homes model means that the young people at Willowhurst are clear regarding the home’s mutual expectations, from supporting the running of the house and playing an active role in their care planning and reviews, through to taking part in-house meetings, therefore feeling fully involved in all decisions about the home. The Care in Mind ethos of “no decision about me without me” is well embedded throughout the home and staff interventions, facilitating a collaborative and inclusive approach to care.

All the young people actively particulate in the completion of the Mental Health Recovery STAR and have individualised care plans in order to be supported to achieve their own goals and fulfill their potential.

The staff team at Willowhurst have created a positive, friendly environment to support the young people in their recovery pathway, supported by effective multidisciplinary team working.
